Leopold Stoesser and his wife Caroline Hurle lived in Gaggenau, Baden, Germany (map) with their children. The last son was born 4 months after the death of Leopold in 1870. In 1880 Caroline Hurle immigrates to the United States with 5 of her children ranging in age form 18 to 10. One child died at birth and her oldest son travels separately from the family. She arrives in New York on 29 Jul 1880 and she travels to New Albany, Floyd County, IN where she remains until the middle 1880's and then relocates across the Ohio River to Louisville, Jefferson County, KY (map). Eventually the oldest son, John, moves to Chicago, IL and the second son moves to St. Louis, St. Louis County, MO.

The task on the Stoesser family is to try to extend the line even farther and to fill in information. I don't really have a roadblock on this family.
