The Kline family originated from Pennsylvania (map) and Maryland at the point of my most distant Kline ancestor. Isaac Kline was born in Pennsylvania about 1823, and married Rebecca Geiger about 1853 probably in Pennsylvania. Isaac died in Indiana in September 1879. Most of the remaining family, wife and children moved to Louisville, KY (map) within five years. My roadblock on the Kline family is that I do not know anything about Isaac's parents or siblings except that the 1870 Census said that his father was born in Pennsylvania and his mother was born in Maryland. The seven children of Isaac and Rebecca were born in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. The parents of Rebecca Geiger are Joseph Geiger and Mary Magdeline McCreary who were married in 1822 in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania and also died there in 1855 and 1864 respectively. They are buried in a cemetery in Export, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. Joseph and Mary Magdeline had seven children. As far as I can determine none of this family line was Catholic until my grandmother married into the family in 1924.
I am specifically looking for the following information:
- Parents and siblings of Isaac Kline.
- How did Isaac Kline became paralyzed in Pennsylvania? Was this due to military service?
- One daughter of Isaac Kline, Nancy E. Kline disappears after the 1880 census and dies before the 1900 census. Any information would be helpful.
